About Our Founder

Software Wizard

Described by some as a wizard of the software world, James has been recognised for his expertise in software development, dedicating nearly three decades to assisting businesses across the UK and Europe in a range of sectors, including fine art, web and design, and telecommunications.

Degree in Software Engineering

James Bailey, founder of J-Cubed, holds a degree in Software Engineering from Bournemouth University and initially pursued a career within a large corporation. However James soon realised that the corporate environment was not aligned with his career aspirations. And after a chance meeting with a former lecturer, James returned to his university, where amongst other things he had his first experience of supporting business initiatives.

Consultancy, Mentoring, and Training

Known for his enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to facilitating change. James is the technical bridge for his clients providing consultancy, mentoring, and training to organisations facing challenges beyond their core competencies. Over the years he has successfully rescued and completed multiple projects and developed numerous proof-of-concept prototypes for clients seeking venture capital funding.

An in-memory key-value database which can be used as a super fast cache or message broker (Pub/Sub). At J-Cubed we utilise Redis to cache infrequently changing data to speed up data intensive apps and reduce load on the database server.

RabbitMQ

At its heart, RabbitMQ is very high speed message broker that uses queues to allow apps to communicate with each other. RabbitMQ has been fundamental in several client projects, allowing large numbers of message from microservices and IoT devices to be processed quickly, efficiently and predictably without bottlenecks or lost messages.

DevOps

Docker

An open-source platform for building, sharing, and running applications using standardised, lightweight containers. Since the introduction of Apple Silicon, J-Cubed has moved from using local virtual machines to Docker for setting up development and testing environments.

Proxmox VE

A virtualization platform based on Debian that integrates KVM and LXC to manage virtual machines, software-defined storage, and networking. Used extensively by J-Cubed to build clients there own private cloud infrastructure running on their own tin.
